Field Upgrading welcomes new President and CEO

April 10, 2017

The Field Upgrading board is very pleased to welcome Lorraine Mitchelmore as the incoming President and CEO. Lorraine is a familiar, and revered name in the oil and gas industry, bringing with her over three decades of broad global executive experience with major companies such as Shell, BHP and Chevron. In her last role with Shell Canada, she was President and Country chair as well as Executive Vice President of Shell Americas Heavy Oil business. Most recently, Lorraine co-founded and co-chaired Smart Prosperity, an initiative to harness new innovative thinking to accelerate Canada’s transition to a stronger, cleaner economy. Lorraine’s global expertise, paired with her passion for energy and environmental policy, will be an asset to Field Upgrading as we work towards commercializing the DSU™ technology.

Why is Neil leaving? Neil has a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy called FSHD. He could be in a wheelchair within ten years. So, he is going to do some traveling now while he still can. Neil is also going to spend more time on his “other job” — finding a cure for FSHD. He has some friends who, like himself, have the disease. They are working together on a cure and making some amazing progress. But, Neil is not going too far away. He will remain on the Board and he will be available to support Lorraine whenever she needs it.

Neil and Lorraine will begin the transition immediately to ensure a smooth transition for Field Upgrading and all staff, with Lorraine officially taking over May 1st, 2017.
